Corey Vetiver, CSWA (he/they)
Hi, I’m Corey. I view our work together as both exploratory and collaborative. It is my priority for my clients to feel as empowered as possible to direct the work while I also understand that there is inherently a power dynamic to the relationship. I believe that we all hold our own intrinsic wisdom and medicine. The therapeutic relationship creates a space where we can tune into this consciousness/awareness together.
What will our sessions look like? When we begin, we will move slowly to establish our connection and build trust. We will work with tools in session that clients can take into their daily lives and that will anchor us when we work with difficult, activating material. I believe what is most important will arise organically during our sessions, and I try my best to not show up with any kind of preconceived agenda.
My therapeutic approach is informed by:
Processwork which includes Gestalt, Jungian dreamwork, Somatic therapy
Parts Work & Internal Family Systems
Anti-oppressive practice
Mindfulness and meditation
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
& currently studying: Polyvagal Theory
About me: I’m Anglo white of Germanic, French and Dutch ancestry. While cis presenting, I identify as and experience myself as gender expansive. I am a first-generation college graduate. I am non-disabled. I am a dog dad, a spouse, a lover of nature, music, film, and croissants. My personal journey of reclaiming my voice, deconstructing internalized toxic masculinity, and embracing my sensitivity has led me to healing work.
