Olivia Schwartz, LCSW (she/her)
About me: As a therapist, I am calm, collaborative, and patient. I listen closely, with kindness and curiosity, and without judgment. In our work together, we will take our time to build safety and cultivate a comfortable space rooted in respect and trust.
Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, I will provide gentle guidance as we explore the origins of patterns and beliefs that create challenges. I invite pauses to examine somatic experiences as well as the wants and needs that are often hard to identify. I believe that by centering self-awareness and self-compassion, we give ourselves both permission and opportunity to create meaningful change.
I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities and will collaborate with you along the way to find what feels good. This tailored approach includes Narrative Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My approach often incorporates parts work, mindfulness, and harm reduction.
I have experience and enjoy working with adults across the lifespan living with trauma, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. I have a particular interest and experience in reproductive mental health and hormonal mood disorders such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
I identify as a white cisgender disabled woman. I take time to reflect on cultural context, power dynamics, and personal biases. I am committed to lifelong learning about the lived experience of individuals as well as the oppressive systems we interact with.
